PURE THERAPEUTIC GRADE ESSENTIAL OIL
GC/MS batch-tested to ensure quality, safety and effectiveness
Overview: Opoponax essential oil or Commiphora Erythraea is also known as Sweet Myrrh and grows in Iran, Turkey, Somalia and Ethiopia. Opopanax is a grass that produces very nice white or yellow flowers. The plant is cut at the base of the stems and generates clear tears recuperated in cans. Tears have a poor yield in essential oil around 5% obtained by steam distillation. The same tears alcohol extracted into resinoid will yield 20 to 25%. Opoponax is from the same tree genus of Myrrh and Frankincense. Even though the oils tend to have more or less the same aroma, Opoponax essential oil has a lighter and sweeter aroma. Due to technical reasons, this product must be recovered on hexane after distillation. Residual traces in the finished products are unavoidable. We supply Somalian and Ethiopian origin opoponax oils and opoponax resinoids.
