Common Use: Black Pepper essential oil contains several aroma contributing terpenes which give it a woody, warm, spicy, citrusy and subtle floral notes. When it dries after application, it gets warmer, marine like, deep, leathery yet sweet with a slight feel of oud. Black Pepper oil is historically used both as a medicine and as a flavouring agent. Though it’s not clinically well established, traditionally the oil is used believing it reduces joint and muscle pains, and also for symptoms of arthritis and rheumatism. In Aromatherapy applications, black pepper essential oil is used in head massage oils to promote hair growth by increasing the blood flow in the hair root. Due to the presence of monoterpenes in it, the oil is widely used for wellness treatments and also it is considered as an aphrodisiac. In natural perfumery, black pepper oil provides interesting effects in the carnation, leather accords, rose bases, tobaccos and in Oriental fragrances.
