Common use: Lavender French essential oil promotes a calm atmosphere in home, it is used to scent wardrobes, bed linen and pillows. Lavender essential oil is widely used in skincare applications for skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Lavender essential oil is considered as a sleep aid and in many other aromatherapy applications. Lavender is believed to have a number of therapeutic benefits in particular antiseptic, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and analgesic properties. The German scientific committee on traditional medicine has reported use of lavender flower in herbalism including its uses for restlessness, insomnia among a few others. There are some studies suggesting lavender essential oil as safe for medicinal purposes such as anxiety. However there are no well established clinical studies confirming its anti disease properties.
