Overview: Beeswax Absolute is a byproduct of honey that is widely used in our industry. When hives have to be fixed every 2-3 years. The blend “waxes/honey” is slightly melted and centrifuged. The biggest production centres are China, Ethiopia and Madagascar however a lot of countries around the world produce their own honey. For example in Europe, which is a big importer, we can find honey everywhere. Africa is a good source too. It is interesting to know that the youngest the waxes are the lightest in colour they are. Deep red colour is a sign of an old product. Beeswax absolute is used to bring the honey-like taste in flavours. Sugar free material will be the best. Beeswax absolute has a sweet, rich, warm, fine honey and pollen notes, a smooth green, hay-like body note, and a mild, waxy undertone. 

The waxes are washed with regular food grade ethanol and then processed as a regular absolute. The yield is always around 2.5%. North Italy, in general, is a regular producer of honey. We select local waxes coming from chestnut honey. We also import waxes from Africa and several countries over the world.
