Overview: Armoise essential oil, also known as white wormwood, is derived from the aerial parts of the shrub Artemisia herba-alba through steam distillation. This perennial shrub is commonly found in the dry steppes of the Mediterranean regions, Western Asia, and Southwestern Europe. Artemisia herba-alba is valued for its antiseptic properties in herbal medicine. Its highly aromatic stems and leaves are covered with glandular hairs that reflect sunlight, giving the plant its distinctive appearance. The plant’s woollen-like stem and white leaves contribute to its name, white wormwood. The plants from the Moroccan and Spanish regions are particularly prized in the industry. Armoise essential oil is extracted only from the aerial parts of the plant, as they contain several sesquiterpene lactones that are beneficial for various applications. We supply the Armoise Oil of Moroccan origin which is tested and packed in France.
