Overview: Lavender Absolute is a concentrated aromatic extract from the lavender plant, typically obtained through solvent extraction. Lavender Absolute boasts a deeper, more complex aroma that is highly valued in perfumery and cosmetic applications. Lavender is cultivated around the globe, with premium grades emerging predominantly from South France, Ukraine, China, and Bulgaria within our industry. Two primary plant types are distinguished: the “population”; sourced directly from wild lavender, including the 50/52 variety, and the “clone”;
type known as 40/42. For extraction purposes, the 40/42 variety has been the preferred choice for decades. Despite diverse sources, the Albion plateau in France and the Karlovo and Velingrad region in Bulgaria consistently yield the finest flowers. The extraction process involves using hexane to obtain the Concrete from the flowers, which is subsequently refined into Lavender Absolute through regular ethanol washes. The flower-to-Concrete yield stands at 5 to 6%, while the conversion to Lavender Absolute achieves an approximate 70%
yield. This implies that one metric ton of flowers yields around 40 kg of Lavender Absolute. Our product range includes four distinct qualities of absolutes: Lavender Absolute Green, Lavender Absolute Brown, Lavender Absolute Decolorised, and Lavender Absolute Colourless.

COMMON USE: Due to its full-bodied, floral, and slightly herbaceous scent, Lavender Absolute is often used in perfumes, especially in floral and oriental fragrance compositions. It’s used in a range of cosmetic products like lotions, soaps, bath products, and more for its scent and potential skin-beneficial properties. It is also used in aromatherapy for its soothing and calming properties. The scent of lavender is believed to help reduce stress, anxiety, and promote relaxation. It is often used in diffusers, massage oils, and bath products. It is used in candles, room sprays, and other home fragrance products for its relaxing aroma. While Lavender Essential Oil is more commonly used in skincare due to its lighter, more readily absorbed nature, Lavender Absolute may also be incorporated into certain skincare formulations. It is thought to have calming, soothing, and healing properties, although more research is needed in this area.
