Overview: Orange 5-fold is a concentrated and potent form of orange essential oil. After extraction of orange oil through cold pressing, it undergoes steam distillation which removes some of the terpenes, thus giving a stronger scent. The term "5-fold" refers to the concentration level of the essential oil. It means that the oil has been concentrated to five times its original strength, making it more potent and aromatic than regular orange essential oil. The reason for creating 5-fold essential oils, or other fold concentrations like 2-fold or 10-fold, is to offer more versatility to manufacturers and consumers. The higher concentration means that less oil is needed to achieve the same level of fragrance or effect, making it more cost-effective for product formulation and usage. The cosmetic products made from orange oil generally lose their smell after a certain period due to the highly volatile compounds in it.
