Overview: Cardamom also called as Cardamon is a spice native to the Indian subcontinent and Indonesia. It is now widely cultivated in Guatemala since it was first introduced by the German planter Oscar Majus Kloffer. The cardamom oil is produced by steam distillation of the seeds of Elettaria Cardamom. Guatemala is the largest producer now followed by India.
