Cymbopogon Martini Sofia commonly known as gingergrass belongs to the family of lemongrass and has similar herbal, grassy, rose, citrus and woody smell. Gingergrass essential oil is not very popular like lemongrass oil but it is believed to have a lot of hidden properties which needs some attention for further study. Gingergrass is a very thickly growing perennial grass native to India. It is often confused with palmarosa. The oil is widely used by soap makers. We supply the Indian origin gingergrass oil.

Common use: Gingergrass essential oil is widely used in the manufacturing of toiletries and perfumes. Gingergrass oil is used as natural perfume for households by diffusing it and believed to improve emotional well-being. When diffused, gingergrass oil gives a very similar smell like geranium oil. The diluted form of gingergrass essential oil is applied topically as a muscle tension reliever in aromatherapy applications. Traditionally the oil is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties and also as an expectorant though no citations are available. Some studies point towards its benefits as a good mosquito and insect repellent.
