Overview: Palmarosa oil is an essential oil derived from the Cymbopogon martini plant, a type of evergreen tall grass commonly found in East Asia. Even though Palmarosa is cultivated in many places for its aroma, it is mainly found in India. Palmarosa is also known by the name Indian Geranium. The sweet smelling floral rose aroma is the reason it got its name palmarosa. Palmarosa grass grows in soil with low nitrogen, with sufficient phosphorus and potassium. Palmarosa grass grows really tall upto 3m and wildly grown in the wetlands of India. The oil is extracted by steam distillation of the dried stems and leaves. We supply the Indian origin palmarosa oil, and the natural isolate geraniol.

Common use: For centuries, Palmarosa Essential Oil has been used to treat coughs, bronchitis, and other respiratory problems believing it has antibacterial and antiviral properties. The geraniol content in palmarosa oil makes it a choice for traditional medicines and several household applications. In aromatherapy application, palmarosa oil is believed to have properties which can calm people with anxiety and depression however scientific evidence is not available for citation. Palmarosa essential oil is an effective insect repellent. Palmarosa oil is known as an effective antifungal which fights aspergillus niger (black mould). Palmarosa oil can be used in a diffuser to uplift the atmosphere and also to keep away mosquitos.
