Overview: The Carrot Seed Essential Oil is produced by steam distillation of the seeds of Daucus Carota. A carrot plant needs 2 years to obtain seeds. It is understood that over 40 million tons of carrots are produced worldwide and China handles 45% of that. Interestingly carrots were originally cultivated for their aromatic leaves and seeds rather than the roots. The harvest of carrot seeds is traditionally Mid-August. The seeds are first smashed, then the smashed seeds are hydro-distilled. The yield is somewhere between 0.6 to 0.8 %. The seeds we use come from different parts of France: Maine et Loire, “rome and Vaucluse. There are many origins available but we generally supply the French origin which is regarded as one of the best Carrot Seed Essential Oils.
